The 2026 Commercial UAV Expo concluded a three-day run at Caesars Forum in Las Vegas on September 3, bringing together more than 225 exhibitors and thousands of industry professionals focused on the rapidly expanding commercial drone and unmanned aircraft systems market.
Hosted by Diversified Communications and presented by Commercial UAV News, the expo featured practical educational sessions, live technology demonstrations, and keynote presentations covering real-world applications of unmanned aircraft systems across public safety, construction, energy, and infrastructure industries.
This year’s theme, Actionable Insights, highlighted practical strategies for advancing commercial drone operations. Keynote sessions included a comparison of Federal Aviation Administration and European Union Aviation Safety Agency approaches to beyond-visual-line-of-sight drone operations, a critical regulatory frontier for the industry. The regulatory landscape remains a key challenge for companies seeking to deploy drones at scale for delivery, inspection, and emergency response.
Among the exhibitors, Reston, Virginia-based Carahsoft Technology Corporation showcased a range of autonomy and robotics solutions alongside technology partners. The government IT solutions provider has positioned itself as a key conduit between drone manufacturers and federal agency buyers, reflecting the growing intersection of commercial drone technology and government procurement.
Las Vegas has become a regular host for drone industry gatherings, benefiting from its convention infrastructure and proximity to Western test ranges. The city’s convention and visitors authority has actively recruited technology-focused events as part of efforts to diversify beyond gaming and entertainment into emerging technology sectors.
The expo also addressed artificial intelligence integration in drone operations, with sessions on autonomous navigation, computer vision for infrastructure inspection, and AI-assisted fleet management. These technologies are increasingly central to commercial drone applications as companies seek to reduce human pilot requirements while maintaining safety standards.
